The Vampire Lovers
Within the tombs
there mossy webs
contained the memories
of centuries past
history of vampires
lost within the threads
she loved the true lord
in his cape of black
with choice her will
she wanted life
eternal with her beloved
dark blood turned her so
embrace he her in hunger
of love to preserve
of body to conserve
fly they to the castles
where ancient rites awaited
they wed in bliss as mortals
yet time did past
thousands of years
they left their sanctuary
just to be free
back to the land
they once did live
the hosts declined
to be dined on
and lo they hold up
torches and pitchfork
they cornered the lovers
and a fight ensued
the night was filled
with screams and shouts
but immortals lost
to stakes and garlics
they burnt what was left
and buried it deep
within the mossy tomb
their ashes interred
quiet reigned.

wow....actually stirred feelings of fear just a bit. Vampires and it's culture....true romantics : )
They loved too I suppose. The humans just didnt like to be treated like soda pop. Or watermelons. I loved the stories of vampires, by Bram Stoker and even Ann Rice, she gets long and winding though. The newer ones are a little like Buffy's. No interest in that stuff. I didn't even like Van Helsing the movie. Thanks for reading me MrM. Kind of you.

I understand humans not wanting to be drained. I still think it's kind of sad to see the vampires reduced to ash. They were just following their natures. Or super natures. I still enjoyed this. There's a movie called "The Vampire Lovers" I must have seen at least five times. The vampires were lesbians, which is all the better. Vampyros lesbos go back a long way.

I don't normally like reading about vampires, especially vampire romance, but this is totally different. I enjoyed this poem very much!!
