Seriously
I don’t understand
Why the touch of your hand
Sends shivers down the length of my spine.
I’ve tried to conceive
Why you’re my biggest pet peeve
How you don’t find the truth in my eyes.
I’ll never believe
That in this great sea
Of wandering souls and tepid, lost people
You find solace in me,
In fucked up debris,
When you could find a soul that is peaceful.
Why the touch of your hand
Sends shivers down the length of my spine.
I’ve tried to conceive
Why you’re my biggest pet peeve
How you don’t find the truth in my eyes.
I’ll never believe
That in this great sea
Of wandering souls and tepid, lost people
You find solace in me,
In fucked up debris,
When you could find a soul that is peaceful.

despite the sad content, this is actually a pretty poem. It has the rhythm of relaxing waves in the water.

This sounds horrible. Those people that make your skin crawl. I guess we all know somebody like that. I know I do.

sounds like something I wld say; 'I'm not good enough for you, you cld find someone better.' we're afraid to pull a decent person down into our own hell. but you gotta figure, maybe the wounded can heal each other.

A peaceful soul is comforting but can ultimately be a bore, lacking in challenge. Challenge can lead to improvement. A mild, decent man can acquire experience that strengthens him. A peaceful match is a reassurance to him but leads to little else. So this decent man might head for Virginia and, despite the debris, find solace. You've given him a spark that he might not have otherwise had. You're anything but tepid and lost. It's more a question of whether or not he deserves you.
