Yes. I have heard that said before. I suppose it is true for some. The way my inspiration works, I will have an idea, a few lines will occur to me. Time will pass whilst I wait in anguish for the inspiration. Weeks, months, a year sometimes. Then I will be seized and a deluge will pour out and all the disconnected lines will come together as if it were destined to be. By the time I finish a work, generally a couple hours writing and then 10-12 making subtle tweaks, I will be utterly spent.
