For Your Eyes Ony
Do not own me as
If I am salt to you
Thrown from a hasty
Pocket to thorny ground
Own me as chalcedony
And jasper and bright cerulean
A cacophony of jewels
Scattered across your bed
Love me with wit and
Prepositions
Over around under and through
Until we are laughing and savage
Do not take me as the
Beasts in the fields but
As hummingbirds
Wings beating in unison
Lift me as your chalice
Of delight and milkseed
And I will glitter more
Precious than all the gems
For you and you alone.
