lonely observer
The lonely observer watches them go by,
Silence is the only words that fly,
No one hears the screams of pain,
Or sees the internal strain,
All they see is the dark,
Never look for the light,
It seems very stark
Inside is very bright
Looking beyond the veil,
The light seems very pale
He sees things no one sees
Wishes that all he saw was the trees
Beyond the mask everyone shows
He knows
Lines on his face are what appears
It's the tracks of his tears
Being alone
For some unknown sin he must atone
Always the listener
The giver
Yet strives to break the mold
Tired of being out in the cold
Yearns for love
The heart always has more to teach
Yet its more flighty than a dove
Always just out of reach
Silence is the only words that fly,
No one hears the screams of pain,
Or sees the internal strain,
All they see is the dark,
Never look for the light,
It seems very stark
Inside is very bright
Looking beyond the veil,
The light seems very pale

Beyond the mask everyone shows

Tired of being out in the cold

Yet its more flighty than a dove
Always just out of reach
