"Only the Good Die Young"

 

I'll come out in Virginia if it's not too late

A Catholic woman that got hit on a date

Caught a terrible disease, I guess it's fate

"I might as well be the one"


He showed some charm, I was vulnerable still

Took off his pants and injected the kill

Afterwards he told me "the price" that I'll pay

Now there's nothing that can be done.


"Only the good die young"?

Is that what I'm waiting for?

I guess he was a "dangerous" man;

I'm not too "pretty" and now not at all "proud"

I may sometimes cry "a bit too loud"

The things that I could have done!

I had a nice long life planned,

Just celebrated my birthday!

"Hope I get a brand new soul"

When it's my time to go.

The man didn't give me "quite enough information"

I didn't count on my "rosary" or him

When we went out on a date on a whim!
