I'm not too sure why I still do the "Odd Jottings" series - I never go back to add to them! But I insist on putting them in as section markers, and perhaps once I get to the end of the anthological run here in a month or so, I'll start posting upon them again. But no promises.
So this marks the beginning/end of the phase entitled "The University Years: Aimless Wanderings and Floating Transitions".
I thought it fitting to post only one short thing above - it was a message scrawled out using big block letters in blue ink many times over on a sheet of paper I taped onto the inside of my locker door. So when I was at my locker, usually loitering beside it on the floor crosslegged scribbling up poetry or non-academic essays, or other disreputable cluttering activities, then the throngs of eager pupils passing by so briskly and rushed in the halls, could look up and be refreshed by such warm welcome...
I penned quite a few similar statements and verse upon the walls and tunnels of the academies I was let loose upon over the years - most have faded out or have been removed/painted over for sure now, but back in the day, the mark was surely left.
The absolute worst instance was later on at the third institute I was admitted access to. I was out and about on the town one weekend night, and into the early hours of the morning I decided to walk about for several hours, terrorise my presence upon the grounds and smoke a joint on a grassy hill north of the campus. After a while, I sought out a computer lab to check on some emails, and after that the exhaustion of partying and walking all night and being stoned, I exhaustedly carried my weary mass over to the nearby washroom to relieve mineself, and there at the urinal as I fumbled my leak into the contraption in a swaying blur of sight I read some kind of inscription scribbled in pencil on the wall at eye level, saying something like "Straighten up you sagging pig bag excuse of an existence, nature won't carry you forever!" (not exactly what it was, but something horribly sinister like that).
It was there I realized that it was my own writing from some time earlier long ago. Oh the persecution... I think it was about that time soon after I stopped writing shit on walls...
