Inevitable Destruction
The water is warm here.
Silver reflections and placid,
Requited crests
Strum the tips of my nipples
A place I never want to leave…
Don’t leave.
Don’t ever leave.
I can search the ends of the earth
Clear into the bowels of hell
And the phantasmal trills of heaven
And not find this peace
This perfect reservoir
Of tidal yearnings
Where my soul
And body
Find a delicate unity
In your honest
Embrace.

I can't help but wonder about the title of this fine poem, Virginia. You describe a perfect reservoir, a unity is achieved and it ends with an embrace. All's well, right? But the title suggests that this paradise may be inevitably lost, or destroyed. Are you being realistic or catastrophizing? Enjoy it while you can!

Yeah, the title is a little hidden undertone of a meaning, if you hadn't meant it to be that it would not fit this beautiful piece of writing. This is simply lovely.
