Absence Bound
She finally took a fade
Vanished in smoky air
Left without her shade
An echo down the stair
Didn't say au revoir
Left me with my tears
With this lasting scar
With these final fears
But I still hear her song
The music of her smile
It has been too long
Now it might be awhile.
Vanished in smoky air
Left without her shade
An echo down the stair
Didn't say au revoir
Left me with my tears
With this lasting scar
With these final fears
But I still hear her song
The music of her smile
It has been too long
Now it might be awhile.

Sweet Sir Crow,
Such a haunting, heart wrenching write. Such sadness and disappointment. Much love to u my dear friend.

" the music of her smile" nice little turn here. Can always expect something good from you, Crow. However, this is the first poem I have read this morning and it's quite melancholy. I wish I could reach over and give you a hug....

Where sorrow clocks the seconds...and the soul listens to the echoes of her memory...
Such a poignantly painful piece!

Thanks for the hugs, Schiitaryn. For a minute there I visualized being trapped in a net, but now I realize you meant this other kind of net. Whew!

Thank you, Flower. "Like and irritating scratch on a record." That's an interesting way to put it. I'll have to pick up the CD!

sadly touching!
the sound of silence
such a deafening tone;
sorrows isolating us
when tears are cried alone...

Thanks, Deborah! Those four lines you included are really impressive. Are they part of a longer poem?

The scars are particularly bad when the lover doesn't offer much by way of explanation for breaking up. If you don't see it coming it can be devastating. Thanks, Minerva.
