Summer Longing

She is lovely,
like the moonlight
on a summer's night
under the contrast
of a cool breeze
as it spills release
against fancy clothes
sticking to glistening skin
as fantasies of sin
press against
the small of her back
and the back of my mind.

And I stand,
like a shadow
against her frame
as she moves,
like a dancer
across the floor,
carrying in her gaze
all the hope of a lover
reaching across the expanse
of ruffled sheets
and sweaty daydreams.
