I miss you..
"It'll all work out for the best.."
She said softly as she laid her head on my chest.
The way she said it comforted me,
I couldn't picture myself without her.
But then again,
a sense of doubt clouded my mind.
My heartbeat made her feel safe,
Oh, how the thumping sound set her at ease.
I decided to close my eyes for a bit..
Waking up as bright stars filled the otherwise dark sky,
"Damn." I thought as I looked around the room.
The taste of her sweet strawberry lipgloss..
Stained on my cold, dry lips..
A broken glass on the floor,
spilled whiskey on the carpet.
I could smell the alcohol on my own breath,
Suddenly it hit me:
"You passed away four months ago.."
