Slowly Fading

Like shimmering streams of refracted light
Shattered beneath the surface of a trickling brook
I am broken

Like the frothy, crashing waves
Trapped beneath, spiraling with forceful currents
I am drowning

Like the wilting, crimson rose
Withering away in the summer heat
I am dying
My colors fading.
My smile cracking.
Slowly Fading

Like the crackling thunder
And flashing lightening
My life split.

Like the falling autumn leaf
Floating down towards oblivion
I am falling

Like the melting alabaster snow
Sliding away with the heat
I am disappearing
My feelings gone
My hope lost
Slowly Fading

A slow fade into a blur
What once was love?
Did my arms not hold you tight enough?
Or my voice be less soothing?

Was my eyes to0 caring?
Or my lips to0 full?

What was wrong with me?
What did I do?
To deserve this slow fade
This serene torture.

I loved
And in return
I was left.
To slowly fade
Into the mess
I am today
Still,
Slowly Fading
