Let Tomorrow Wait

We are only humans
we cannot see beyond now
we can only plan and hope
most times time turns us down

Should we then give it all up
surrendering all our dreams
leaving everything to fate
leaving it all to chance

By no means my friend
should we turn from the goal
else we are no better than animals
who simply live die and go

There is no promise of earthly happiness
that is not obstructed by pain
they all mix up interestingly
to free living from monotony

After all we are not robots
programmed in a particular way
we are designed to face and surmount difficulties
and that success is what brings us fulfillment

let us brace ourselves therefore
and live our lives for today
there is no guarantee for another day
thus tomorrow must wait

Let us eat drink and be merry
and speak in gratitude to he who dwells up high
enjoying every bit of the drama
for afterwards we shall die

life is for the living
Hades is for the dead
comfort is for the grieving
roses is not a bed

That every wishful thinker can lay on
living is more than that
i promise to show you even more
if you promise to watch my back

Then we shall walk through this world of stress
with only smiles on our faces
it is not that difficult
neither too hard to attain

All i need is your understanding
look back to how we came
naked we rolled out the womb
naked we shall return

So pause the steady stressing
stop dreaming and stay awake
for while we are busy aspiring
time takes us unawares
