The Day Will Come
The Day Will Come.
It’s night now;
I'm totally calm.
The sun is gone.
The dark’s comforting; I cannot be held in scorn.
Yet, I'm afraid because the day will come.
The night’s lovely and quiet;
I listen to this beautiful sound of darkness.
No strings attached, just a calm riot.
Sitting here alone in starkness.
Yet, I cannot relax because the day will come.
The moon’s at its most beautiful state.
The moon’s bright and big.
Mesmerised, I assume this to be fate.
I sit here with tears and a faint grin, thinking of graves to dig.
Yet, I can't dwell on this moment because the day will come.
Best are times when I don't know the time at which dawn will come.
Best are nights when I can't locate, motivate or rotate the breaking of the stark of dawn.
Because I know that the day will come
