she instinctually closes achromatic eyes
like so many times before
drifting away carelessly
in an effort to escape the void
languid from lingering
she peeks from a darkness
where a heart can never grow
and shrugs, unimpressed by the view

i like that word... achromatic... it's as cold as the flat, lifeless colour it describes
