The Fading Sky
I kept my head above the horizon for too long.
So was clipped of my wings and my down sold.
I was grounded.
So the sky lost its luster,
yet if I tried real hard
I could catch a glimpse of colour on the horizon.
multiple bands of colour set in the sky.
Eventually though much to my chagrin,
I learned to think with my mind.
Rather than my eyes.
Colour blind I had become.
And so that sky that once held so many colours
now held merely bands of grey.
I lost all fondness for that sky, that horizon.
Disillusioned I became.
