It's a wonder anybody would ever even love at all

Her eyes were flat
They had none of the warmth
They used to
None of the joy

My stomache seized up
At a glance
She was an alien
An imposter
Doppelgänger
Double
This was not my love

And hadn't been for some time
Somehow my love for her was keeping me
With someone who mostly looks like her
My heart is aching

No literally
I think she's giving me a heart attack
Or a panic attack or something

And I think about ending a relationship
I still wish I had
But haven't for some time

My fourth drink at this bar
It's a wonder anybody would ever even love at all
