~Fire~

It started off as smoke
Sadness in the air
But it thickened quickly
Soon, unable to bare

Photos of fun times
Old friends and new
Now used as kindling
But I never had a clue

Prescription medication
Copious amounts of alcohol
Only fueling the flames
Slowly inching up the wall

Memories catch fire
Burned down to a shred
Assisting the outbreak
Of orange & gold flames in my head

At the tips of my fingers
And the bottom of my toes
I can feel the burning sensation
And the pain only grows

A crackle when I talk
An unnatural flicker in my eye
All of this blazing pain
Spilling from inside

One last bright smile
Before the agony took its toll
The spark finally spread
And Fire consumed my soul
