It broke my heart to realize this

You told me you were cancer but I could never see it,
It's taken me almost two years to finally belive it.
You as a single person had a larger impact on me than the world combined,
You show'd me the highest mountin peaks and the abysses confines.
There's so many people in this world and I had to bring you into mine,
I feel like this will be one of my biggest regrets.
You opened almost every door I had then tore the hinges away,
You've left everything unanswered showing me that you are the cancer.

The chapter you opend in my life will never have a ending,
And that's what I was afraid of from the beginning.
But your role in my life was not to be there for the rest,
You were there to show me my worst and my best.
So no longer will you keep me up night and day,
I've learned from my mistakes, so from you I will stay away.
