The struggle
Tired of living a lie
The mask is overwhelming
The tears are hidden
Until night falls
She weeps quietly
Until her body sleeps
Then morning awaits her
There goes another fake smile
That no one ever questions
Nobody wonders
So away she hides it all
But how long can she go on like this
How much longer can she fake to be strong
She's afraid to take her own life
But she's suffocating in misery
And just wants it all to end
The thoughts pace through her mind constantly
Pills she says
No I can't...
The knife is right there...
No I can't...
The pills ....
They are so tempting..
No she tells herself!
I can't leave this way.
So another day passes.
She feels ill.
It seems more than just a cold.
She hopes... She prays...
That it's more than that..
So that it will take her.
And she will no longer have the thoughts or guilt of wanting to handle it all herself ...
But then night falls again..
And again she weeps.
It's an everyday routine that she just wants to end...
The mask is overwhelming
The tears are hidden
Until night falls
She weeps quietly
Until her body sleeps
Then morning awaits her
There goes another fake smile
That no one ever questions
Nobody wonders
So away she hides it all
