Vagabond
The secrets lay waste to the power of my will
Sweet but deadly seductions of jagged little pills
Inducing sleep, inducing coma
See how many you can take just for a little thrill
Your picture reminds me of once upon a time
When two lovers entwined like rhythmic words in rhyme
Sharing dreams, sharing moments
Facing down the odds, mountainous, struggle up the climb
But that is all just a memory
Buried in the past
With just as many deeds
What happened?
Overdoses in the darkest night
Broken in a shell
Pale skin that’s pasty white
One too many times
But when I hear your singing
It lifts me up just to let me down
When your hollow facade is fading
In your burial shroud
I can still taste the sweetness of your kiss on lips
Split and broken when despair kicks into snarls and rips
Berating me, berating myself
Lashing about all around, I just can’t come to grips
But why can’t I just let go of this?
Trapped in the rage
I long for one more kiss
Can’t wait forever
But when I hear your singing
It lifts me up just to let me down
When your hollow facade is fading
In your burial shroud
I can feel the fire dying surely inside my broken heart
Torturous every single day, must find an outlet before I part
Consuming all the things in flames of my rebirth
Bury them down so goddamned deep they may never be unearthed
The flames are burning bright, deep down into my bones
A vagabond I’ve become, just a man without a home
Fading dreams, fading pictures
Empty eyes searching for you in places where ghost roam
But why can’t I just let go of you?
Trapped in the frame
In early morning dew
I’ll wait forever
But when I hear your singing
It lifts me up just to let me down
When your hollow facade is fading
In your burial shroud
Sweet but deadly seductions of jagged little pills
Inducing sleep, inducing coma
See how many you can take just for a little thrill
