The Ring of Lament
Once we did dig and sing
in the underground mine
when we had a king
when our lives were fine.
We loved to dig deep
for the entire time
and forsake all sleep
to the mining chime.
Deep in the dark ground
far from prying eyes
was where it was found
with it's foul lies.
It called us to war
away from the gold
towards death and more
and far from our hold.
While we were away
the orks took our home
one ill-fated day
so now we must roam.
Denied our deep land
and from our love
to wander the sand
as crows fly above.
We long for our home
and the warmth within
but now we must roam
and pay for our sin.
No more lovely gold
no more do we sing
no longer so bold
because of that ring.
