To Look
I looked at you just like I had so many times before,
Something felt diffeTrent right at that moment.
Maybe it was the feeling of the crisp new summer air that lingered around us,
Or maybe it was the fact that my mother would be home at any second and we couldn't bare to say goodbye yet.
The only light was the one above my front door, where you held me below, and the light coming from that bright gleam in your eyes.
I looked at you and saw you gazing back
Before our lips touched for the third time that week.
That's when I knew
I knew it could be the start of something beautiful.
If only we could go back to that night
And could tell ourselves to hold on to the edge of every moment.
Maybe then I could last.
If only it could last for one more night like that
Where I could look at you and you could look back.
