A Fool

I was a fool to think a change of state or a change of face, will take me from this empty place.
I'm in a relay with time and I'm losing the most important race.
Why has life just sped up?
Why has media made society so corrupt?
Kids growing up without dreaming cause they think it isn't within reach.
We tell the youth today to try hard to "be somebody"
Do we practice what we preach?
When we go to school everyday, do the teachers really teach?
Why is it so hard to keep young children out the streets?
& Why when a cop kills a black man, everything is fine?
So many people dying am I next in line?
I don't mean to complain but I have a lot of shit on my mind.
Friend died so young, only seventeen
I had no idea the world was so mean.
I have opened my eyes to a something so cruel...
I wish I had only remained a fool.
