Staying awake

Autumn leaves are falling now
The same cold wind could knock me down
But I'm warm inside and it's starting to show
I close my eyes; let the cold wind blow

The colors change as the sun starts to rise
Never realized how bright it could shine
Watching the shade move with time
Like the way you move through my mind

It's a new day and there's a smile on my face
Just when I thought the night wouldn't end
It's giving way to the light again
I'm staying awake to take it all in
