I Had A Dream
I had a dream...
In my dream I heard a knock on my door,
It was Mr Death,
He had come to take me home,
But I wasn't willing to go.
I tried sweet talking to no avail,
He was bent on taking me away,
So finally I gave in,but not without one last appeal;
To at least allow me put everything in place.
So I ushered him in,
Offered him food and drink,
To keep him busy while I prepared,
For that eternal journey of no return,
Combed my hair and brushed my beards.
By the time I was done Mr Death had slept off,
In one hand a pitch fork,in the other a list,
Of names of people he was suppose to pop,
Amazingly my name was at the top.
While he was still asleep I took the list;
Erased my name from the top and re-wrote it at the bottom,
At least that would buy me many more days,
When he wakes he surely won't fathom.
At noon Mr Death awoke from his slumber,
Took a long stretch and yawned all the way,
Turning to me with a look of appreciation,
Mr Death had the following to say:
"Son,you have been so kind to me,
And one kind gesture surely deserves another,
Thus,since you have been this kind to me,
I guess I would rather start from the bottom of my list".
In my dream I heard a knock on my door,
It was Mr Death,

But I wasn't willing to go.
