Never Not Just Feelings

waking up too early
listening to the soughing
of the wind meeting the eaves
and the distant crashing waves

fondly thinking of solitude
to rest physically and within
far away from the bustling crowds
of frantic breadwinners

and then thought of waiting stacks
of things to do bills to pay
words I thought I haven't shared
turning to my side closing my eyes

sighing
I hope for slumber
at least it is a respite from feelings
that I should be somewhere happier.
