Wedding Day
Marriage is not 50-50
Divorce is 50-50
Marriage is not dividing up the lot
Marriage is giving everything you've got
Marriage is 100-100
Long time love is not a simple thing
Starts before putting on that wedding ring
Smiles means more than joy
Tears means more than pain
Long time love is not a simple thing
Starts so easy, happiness does bring
Waking and being with an angle
Is a decision, not a vision
Working to live
While living to love
Long time love is not a simple thing
Sun shines, birds sing
When building each other up
Is not about lending a helping hand
But because we know
What it's like to be torn down
Life can be
Acquired skills, accumulated resources
Supporting us all
With siege walls fabricated
But foundations built on shifting sands
Provides permanent unstable life support
Together
Learn to dig deep
Build upon solid foundations

And you are so right, I can totally relate to your poem since my husband and I've been together for 39 years, married for 29. It has been work sometimes but also fun. I would marry him again :-).
