LANDAY: To Brave Muska
Down by the riverbank he waits
For you to come alone so you could finally meet.
While eating the sweet pomegranate
He is thinking of you hoping you will not be late.
News came to him, you took your own life.
What happened to your promise of becoming his wife?
He heard you had set yourself on fire…
Blazing to the ground, your selfish act flamed his desire.
Wish you lived to see the day Muska
Nation at peace so he could see you without burqa.
(A tribute to Rahila Muska, an Afghan teen-age poet whose real name is Zarmina whose young love has gone awry.)
