Sometimes it is like that, you're right. But not always. There are certain forms of pain which are welcome. There's a different form of pain which simply makes you want to forget.

Yes, it is saddening, Poe. Lies are emotion killers. The haiku form is a challenge, you know, especially for the painful emotions which fight for being expressed overflowingly. I thank you for your understanding and friendship.

I like your offered analogy. It's a great pleasure for the author if a poem doesn't fail to convey the intended message although it's restricted to 17 syllables :-).

Thanks sodium589 :-). At least we can escape pain mentally, that's right. A friend told me to treat things which bother me as a rotten tooth. Get it out and forget it then. Good advice.
