Maladapted
A picture is worth more than a thousand words
Missing from each frame of that evening
Reveals the true face of my worth
Hideous is the shade of needing
A flash flood of cameras drowning the angles
I am the spectre invisible to shutters
All you people here are the cold fingers on the hands suffocating my neck in a social strangle
Urge to fit in
Just to wind up slipping in the mire of this weirdness
A creeper made aware in reflection
Dead cold flinch when this warm hand touched her shoulder
A reach of closeness makes Andrea shudder for solstice
Another misfit without a car to drive
Lost below vision of respectable facade
The first one to get here though never arrived
It's all on me
Know it to be
The burning leaf
Of the uprooted bailed out family tree
