Poison
I rip the label off and tilt it back.
When the poison takes effect,
I want to look homeless
Because home walked out on me when she left.
So I take a knife to my jeans and rip them,
And I struggle it through my shirt,
And it drags against my chest
But where is the hurt?
Why would it hurt?
My chest was torn open when she ripped out my heart.
Why would it hurt?
My chest went numb when she tore it apart.
Regardless, my heart began to throb
As the poison reached my blood;
I hear, "pump-pump, pump-pump, pump-pump,"
And I barely hear a thud.
When the poison takes effect,
I want to look homeless
Because home walked out on me when she left.
So I take a knife to my jeans and rip them,
And I struggle it through my shirt,
And it drags against my chest
But where is the hurt?
Why would it hurt?
My chest was torn open when she ripped out my heart.
Why would it hurt?
My chest went numb when she tore it apart.
Regardless, my heart began to throb
As the poison reached my blood;
I hear, "pump-pump, pump-pump, pump-pump,"
And I barely hear a thud.
