Pop Cult

Oh tiny silver light
Above my head
Tell me a story
As I lie in bed.
Tell me a story about Romeo stuck within the bureau of stars
Tell me a tall tale
Make this empty world
Full of chaos and hate
Make it float away
Send it into the tides of the sea
She shall wrap her tentacles around the ring of fire
And tame that malevolence that is me.

I love all that is light and dark
In the shrunken depths of my heart
This shall forever remain true
But tell me this
How must I see
Without these fictitious eyes
For all I shall see
I cannot bear
I shall despise
With all my heart’s desire
I cannot memorize
What it is I fight or might I try.

I can only play masquerade before dawn
Then my curiosity must explore what has been forbade
My mind,
It isn’t as resistant as I shall believe
I am just like any other adolescent teen
I want the taboo
But the persecution of innocence
By the eyes of my peers.

I am a pupil of this wicked world
This is what we learn
Going in then out our ears
On our TV screens
A woman’s jaded scream
A man’s delight displayed through his lustful pinch
A youngster six feet under
Massacred by the desolate minds of lonely men
How bleak
How much we have lapsed to opposed the charm
Of exploding pop culture
A sensation lasting as long as sugar shall
Leaving a chemical aftertaste.
I shall be so quick to leap over time and back
Back to the old times

Euphoric people
Vacant burial grounds
Splendiferous art
Let’s get a head start
And begin again
2012 I can’t wait till you strip the world from the dark.

No I don’t pray for ignorance (1960's)
I pray for love and unity
A force so strong that it shall strengthen
Whatever meaning our flag shall sustain
We need to search inside ourselves
And ask…What does it take to abide by evil?
What does it take to uncover peace?
How shall I pursuit happiness?
