DATE NIGHT

(Inspired by actual events; the names have been changed because, frankly, I didn't stop to ask)

Shhhhhhh!

be very quiet
John are you sure?
sure ‘bout what?
that we’re supposed to be
you know...in here?
don’t fret Yolanda
my cousin Fred
just before he disappeared
said this is the safest place
in our world
ha ha he called it “lover’s hide-away”
a veritable Taj Mahal, he said
John?
what?
wasn’t the Taj Mahal
built as a mausoleum?
a mouse-o-what?
anyhow I don’t feel right being here
come on darl’in loosen up!
we don’t get out much
for pleasure anyway
It's time we paint the town red
Fred said the giants don’t come in here
but three maybe four times a day
Oh, and stay away from honeycomb clouds
what’s a honeycomb cloud?
I don’t know!
Fred just said avoid ‘em
oh and by the way
don’t go near the big white slide
it looks like a lot of fun
but once you're at the bottom
you ain’t com’in back up
would you look at the size of that
shiny white palace
that is something to behold!

BOOM BOOM BOOM!!
John, what is that?
QUICK HIDE!
that’s a giant coming our way
John, why’s it so bright?
we’re alright...just stay hidden
if we don’t move a muscle
or antennae
we become invisible
the big fella will go away soon
DANG IT! I’ve been spotted
I gotta make a run for it
Yolanda, no matter what happens,
STAY HIDDEN!
Oh, and I uhhh I love ya girl
I can take this guy
HEY FATTY! DOWN HERE!
that’s right chase me
ya big tub-o-lard
WOOOOOO HOOOOO!
what’s that shadow?
Oh no! It’s the honeycomb clou…
OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!
I gotta get back up
I can’t see it’s so dark
Yoooolaaaaandaaaaa!
I’m coming John!
JOHN WAKE UP! PLEASE WAKE UP JOHN!
SPLAT!!
