COVETOUS
To covet your love is a sin I know
like one left dying in the desert heat
in vain I try to not covet the snow
my need for you is as strong and complete
When I come near oh how your eyes do shine
as one sincerely happy to see me
in your gaze my real and dream worlds align
and my imprisoned true self is set free
No sweeter sound in all nature exists
than my name by your alluring lips formed
seductive siren I cannot resist
by your healing kisses I am reborn
For your love I would risk a fall from grace
to now and always look upon your face

Katja, thank you! I am trying to express the true and deep longing that accompanies love. I'd have to say this was based on a compilation of muses :) I am so glad that you think that it is beautiful. I truly love the the challenge of the sonnet structure.

Thank you so much, Savaja! "in your gaze my real and dream worlds align " was my most favorite line to write. The sonnet is definitely one of my favorite poetry forms. I love the precise rhyming structure. Shakespeare's sonnets, in my opinion, are some of the most romantic poems ever written...#29 is my absolute favorite.
