Confessions of A Cutter
I cut myself today
Deep..
With a razor knife I brought home from work
The blade still had a little bite left
With my slice I pushed past all my layers of skin
From my belly button, past my chest to the bottom of my neck
Clenching my jaw to work through the pain
To my surprise there was not a single drop of fluid
No entrails spilling out like an intestinal octopus
Instead..
There was Apple pie, gummy bears and McDonald's french fries
Everything was going to be all right :D

so damn great? i just.... i'm at a loss, DY. i think this is the best cutting poem that i've ever read. i was almost put off by the beginning, but i was smiling by the end. dark, intriguing, and so refreshing. well done. [:

I like this. Part parody of all those pathetic teenage cutting poems (LOVE the smiley at the end; a dead on attack against the illiterate masses who produce such attention seeking crap), part serious meditation on self-harm.

This made my day. This topic always makes me curious, but you took my curiosity and well, threw it off a cliff with a parachute without telling it it had one. Haha. :)
