Another sleepless night
consciously unconscious
Stricken with blight

Eyes painted wide
Not even a flutter
Mind wonders,  have I died
Voices heard,  just a mutter  
Malevolent eyes
Drawing near
Speaking hate and lies
Whispers in my ear
God I pray for sleep
A reminder of mortality
So elusive, I can't keep
Insanity,  pure brutality
Consumed by thoughts
Ever so relentless
Stare up, counting dots
Fun as the dentist
Mind slowly drifts away
Awake , panting in panic
Engulfed,  insomniac decay
Breathless, it's manic
Dawn approaches
