War torn
Inside
my mind
I am war torn
beaten
and confused
the bombs shake the ground
smoke rises from the hills
and the grass below
our feet
dies
as we run
a pretty voices
seductively calling out
as I walk
though fire
smoke
and the mass destruction
of a million blood-thirsty soldiers
nothing lies where I end
in paradise
but nothing more
than a card-board cover
paper cuts
from running
my fingers across
its gorgeous edges
hoping to find a cure
but only more damage
as the dam breaks
and the thoughts
flood my
cluttered mind
my mind
I am war torn
beaten
and confused
the bombs shake the ground
smoke rises from the hills
and the grass below
our feet
dies
as we run
a pretty voices
seductively calling out
as I walk
though fire
smoke
and the mass destruction
of a million blood-thirsty soldiers
nothing lies where I end
in paradise
but nothing more
than a card-board cover
paper cuts
from running
my fingers across
its gorgeous edges
hoping to find a cure
but only more damage
as the dam breaks
and the thoughts
flood my
cluttered mind
