Faceless
He roams through the darkness
Only to stay out of sight
His face remains unseen
Under the cover of night
He's done nothing wrong
His only mistake was being born
A kind heart and gentle soul
Yet by this world, he is torn
His face ruined and disfigured
Through no fault of his own
People are too scared of his looks
So he spends his days alone
But he doesn't hold a grudge
He pities those with fear
They can't see beyond his face
So for them, he sheds a tear
One of the kindest men in the world
Who would give the shirt of his back
A victim of false judgement
And suffering verbal attack
He could hate and curse them all
Be the monster each person sees
Instead he prays for their souls
As he drops down to his knees
Lord, let these people see
Beyond what their two eyes show
Let them see beyond appearance
The things they did not know
Have mercy on their souls
May they follow Your guiding light
May they learn there's much more
Beyond what's visible in sight
So this man, this monster
Which everybody fears
Is praying to God
And crying with tears
In hopes he'll one day be accepted
Despite his facial scars
And emerge during the light of day
Not just at night amongst the stars
This man is no monster
He's an angel in disguise
But society won't judge with heart
But only with the eyes
Only to stay out of sight
His face remains unseen
Under the cover of night
He's done nothing wrong
His only mistake was being born
A kind heart and gentle soul
Yet by this world, he is torn
His face ruined and disfigured
Through no fault of his own
People are too scared of his looks
