surreal
do not linger here,
time is too precious.
do not be misguided
by the evasiveness, serene & shallow;
it may have incalculable depth.
not to engulf, nor consume,
but to allow luxurious breath.
all of our world & our universe
may sojourn here:
all that is unfathomable,
all that we yearn to fathom.
upon its untenable road, we may stumble.
if we gaze at its far horizon,
& do not see art
(as we perceive it)
would we turn away?
we come here merely to explore.
what we find, we may keep.
it has no value,
except what we ascribe to it.

Though the poem says not to linger, I can't Help it. There are many layers to this simple message. Art is what w make of it anyway

preached in the blues and on roadsides - wise words John.
Where is the line between art and life - just a horizon
re-read and re-read these lines:
"we come here merely to explore.
what we find, we may keep.
it has no value,
except what we ascribe to it."
cool writings indeed

and after we leave, it's
what we're left with, perhaps...
and this piece leaves me
wondering...
a really interesting write...

I love the way your poems make me think...your words are always ART
We are here to explore....I believe you are right
We are also here to enjoy with great passion

you have a profound flare for conveying the darkest and deepest thoughts with a nonchalance that is so admirable, you can seem removed or totally present in that silent narrative that shouts...this is clever and a great read

I love the philosophical tone of this one, and its wisdom is not to be ignored. Your poetic spirit moves me,,, divinely.

"it has no value,
