Tank Man Revisited
Because we said no. Because we fed
and watered your armored columns
Because tears shame.
.
Do you remember, America? Do you
remember how stoned and fucking
happy we were
that someone was finally
.
Doing something about “Them”?
.
Do you recall the pain of abandoned
hopes left bloody and burning
on the square?
.
We fed you, we loved you, we called you
Soldier Brother. Twenty five years,
do tears still shame?
.
I love and am appalled by my very
own kind. But I will come. I can
hold you, sweep the blood
.
I can help, rather than continue, allow, hurt.
