he did not beg
she does not lead
they didn’t pretend
She pulls in her breath
deeply
feelings pushed aside
completely
adjusting her dress ever so
neatly…
He staggers forward
She leans back
He clutches his heart
She touches hers
He whispers goodbye
She whispers
please die ...
