That First Kiss

I miss the quiet moments just before dreams
where I could hear your breath
The way your smile could squeeze the darkness
from chambers within my chest
A pleasing gentle touch on the back of my hand
as your fingers traced my skin
I miss the sunshine of your laughter
unencumbered warming me from the outside in
The way your kiss could be soft or demanding
full of a rawness that left me hungry for more
A caress of your voice in reciprocated
whispers as we stepped thru sensuality’s  door
I miss moments in the dark where I could reach out
in slumber and find comfort in your touch
The way I felt free and alive in your presence,
my heart relaxed in completions clutch
An ignition of the inner fire that burns
for the one soul that completes our own
But on days like this…
I miss the blissful ignorance
I lived before your love was known
The time when I had no true measure
of what it was I was missed
A happy and carefree mind,
an unbroken heart,
me…before that first kiss.
