I like this poem. It's almost an anti-haiku. Here's hoping you never get another pain in the foot! Whether that pain be thorn- or lover-delivered... (By the way, thank you for teaching me a new word in "mesquite".)

Sounds like a pain. When it heals, but a scar will remain to remind you. Nice write, short and simple, but got the message across quite well. Enjoyed it!
