As I watch you sleep
with no care in this universe
How the sound of you breathing
reassures everything
that was brought amongst us today

Your eyes fluttering
Knowing your dreaming
with hopes and inspirations
of tomorrow

Are you going to be the next spider man
flying through the city
or the next cops and robbers
laughing in the backyard

How fast you are growing
out of mommy's arms
The hands that held you every night
happy or sad
The exhaustion at times unbearable

My son
I would never change
the memories remain
Don't worry
Mommy is still sane

So as I watch you tonight
why'll you hold my hand tight

The lights are off
but the closet is closed shut
knowing the boogey man
is not going to be visiting here tonight
No screams or woken with frieght
So my little boy will be alright
