My Life Is The Rain
I'm the shell of a person
Sometimes I hurt so much
When I just need someone with me
Someone to talk to
So I don't become trapped
So it doesn't feel like every nerve ending has snapped
And sent the pain directly back to my heart
I put my hands together and just look down
Watch as tears fall
For a second I see over this wall
For a second i'm falling out with these tears
I no longer give a fuck about life or love or all the hurt
I no longer care I don't have your hand to hold anymore
But reality is a lot less nice
I care
And I hate these nights
Where one hand grips the other arm
And I close myself off
And breathing becomes a little harder
Where someone asks if I'm okay
I say "yeah" but look to the left
And think "whats left?"
My stomache tightens a litttle with this thought
And it feels as though sometimes I've been shot
And I just sit here and float
Like something tossed into the sea
I'm that something and the sea is my pain
My life is the rain
Sometimes I hurt so much
When I just need someone with me
Someone to talk to
So I don't become trapped
So it doesn't feel like every nerve ending has snapped
And sent the pain directly back to my heart
I put my hands together and just look down
Watch as tears fall
For a second I see over this wall
For a second i'm falling out with these tears
I no longer give a fuck about life or love or all the hurt
I no longer care I don't have your hand to hold anymore
But reality is a lot less nice
I care
And I hate these nights
Where one hand grips the other arm
And I close myself off
And breathing becomes a little harder
Where someone asks if I'm okay
I say "yeah" but look to the left
And think "whats left?"
My stomache tightens a litttle with this thought
And it feels as though sometimes I've been shot
And I just sit here and float
Like something tossed into the sea
I'm that something and the sea is my pain
My life is the rain
