He kept checking his watch like he had OCD
As though it would make the bus come quicker
A mask of anxiety upon his slightly ashen face

I didn't ask his story;
He had that look of desperation
I find so distasteful
And bus stop men have a habit
Of being the kind of souls
I try and avoid
Though he still rated higher
Than the speed freak,
The father of six with the wayward wife
And the guy
Who invited me back to his motel room
With the promise of a good time
