In darkness
In darkness so silent and calm
Within a garden of my own
I seek the due that will quench
Myself, my curiosity, satisfaction.
What is the thought in mind
That embodies this garden?
What is the joy that I pleasure
And the joy within misery?
Is it love that truly fills the void
Or is it but superficial in feeling
For they say and in circumstance know
That joy if not earned is given.
And if not, shall lonesome grant
That such feeling of worth
When one finds joy in misery
When misery gives one's life reason?
Within a garden of my own
I seek the due that will quench
Myself, my curiosity, satisfaction.
What is the thought in mind
That embodies this garden?
What is the joy that I pleasure
And the joy within misery?
Is it love that truly fills the void
Or is it but superficial in feeling
For they say and in circumstance know
That joy if not earned is given.
And if not, shall lonesome grant
That such feeling of worth
When one finds joy in misery
When misery gives one's life reason?
