POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
I do not compose the poems. They come on their own accord. I simply jot them down on paper.

I love you because
You remind me of the smell of coffee
When I no longer have the sense of smell.
Running across a silent city
Screaming at the top of our lungs in excitement.
Getting absolutely lost
When the world is looking for us.
Phone calls at night on my way to work,
Looking over lights reflecting on water.
Waking up next to your silent voice
As you breathe in my ear--
With your head on my chest
Like a baby safe and trusting.
I love you because to you
I'm a good person. I'm kind and...

Listen to the whispers of trees
And gentle peeping of the sunrise
Through dancing curtains
Reaching our pillows.
I wake up
To the softness of your breath
Tickling my ear
Tickling my heart
Wiping sand off your eyes,
Cherishing the wrinkle of your nose
You smile at me
In the good of morning
And I know just who you are
When suddenly the room
Any room at all

There will come a time when
We reach the end of our match.
When the flame goes cold
And passion becomes a distant memory.
You simply cannot expect
Someone's world to turn forever.
We are human too;
Persevering, however fragile.
And o cursed spite ,
The time will be out of joint
And it will take the effort of two
To set it right.

Summer in the Rain
I can hear the pitter-patter of rain
Dropping on my windowsill;
The beaming car lights that passed us by
As we stood under the same umbrella.
I knew the rainy days were at hand
But you make all the days in my life
Feel like a warm

Things I know nothing about
There are many things I do not know.
But whatever the case may be
For reasons ineffable
We ought to carry on carrying on,
Continually learning about learning,
Dreaming the unimaginable dream,
A life unexplainable
And yet entirely comprehensible

Don't get me wrong
One of these days you'll receive a letter
And you'll know who it's from.
It's profuse with the scent of spring
And the color of a million days.
You are strong
Like the mountains against the wind
There is no other you will ever need
To stand immovable amidst adversity
But oh, You'll be loved
With the kind of love you deserve.
That person will look at you
And in one glance know
That life is a blessing.
And your scars will fade
As you remember this warmth.
You will smile
With a smile...

When do you stop being a poet
When do you stop being a poet, I asked myself.
When the scent of coffee ceases to please
And you no longer smile at your phone.
On the day you stop listening to music
And singing your favorite songs.
The instant you stop dreaming at night
or hoping to dream,
Or looking back at all your memories
And warming to the thought of many more.
I answered myself:
You do not let go of poetry for not writing.
Life itself, in excitement or boredom,
is a poem.
And simply being...

She hides in unveiling
There she is in all her splendor,
Yet you'll never understand the battles she faces.
No, she'll never say a word.

But everything was going so well...

When I go
When I go, don't burry me in the grass;
Throw me into the deep blue seas
Or dye me with the sky and mix me in air
So I can share my love with the world.
I'll be the leaves flying in the summer
Whispering words of love on a warm day,
The rain pouring down on the Earth
When the sun chooses not to stay
Because if life is music then when I go
You'll be hearing a beautiful song at night.
I may not sing well, albeit the cats will stay
Listening to my song of love, of hope, of life.

I promise you
When our hair becomes stained platinum
And our eyes lose their beautiful radiance,
The world could even cave in on itself
With a violent shake and stir the mountains
But our promise will always remain timeless
In a golden age untouched by any all.
A promise that would outshine the stars.
And light every flame at night.
I will always,
Even if all the gods forbid
And force me to forget,

When I found you
We lost the sea
And the sky trembled
In loud tremors.
