kindness
Intangible night smothers my
traitorous bleeding heart.
Pushing jagged splinters through
crimson veins
beat by wounded beat.
Every stumbling step from you
tears at my fractured soul.
Forcing acid tears from emerald eyes
There is no hopeful moon
no glow to light this path.
Your face hidden I stumble in the dark
carving out every print on me from you.
There is no back
Just trough.
Beat by searing i learn i'll live.
But to kill me would be kind.

Pushing jagged splinters through
crimson veins
beat by wounded beat.
Every stumbling step from you
tears at my fractured soul.
Forcing acid tears from emerald eyes
There is no hopeful moon
no glow to light this path.

Simply love the intensity towards the end, and the last sentence makes the curtain drop.

stanza one caught me, like a hand around my throat that wouldn't let go.
a heart-rending piece, exquisite in its cruelty.
